Chelsea star Eden Hazard misses training ahead of Atletico clash

The Belgium international has yet to fully recover from a calf injury and is a major doubt for the Blues’ match-up in Spain.

Chelsea face the prospect of playing their Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid without top scorer Eden Hazard, who is struggling to recover from injury in time to feature.

The Belgian winger missed the Blues’ final training session before flying to Spain and is set to miss the clash at the Vicente Calderon on Tuesday night, according to Sky Sports.

The former Lille man is the side’s top goalscorer this term, netting 14 Premier League goals so far in the campaign.

Jose Mourinho must consider who to field in the Belgian’s absence, with Hazard sure to be sorely missed.

The attacking midfielder has been struggling with a calf injury from Chelsea’s quarter-final victory over Paris Saint-Germain and has been on the outskirts of the team for the last fortnight.
