Arsenal morning news: Gunners in double raid on Real Madrid? Wenger backs Wilshere for World Cup

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

TMW has claimed Arsenal will make a double offer for Real Madrid stars Alvaro Morata and Casemiro this summer.

Morata has been linked with the Gunners for most of this season, as he continues to struggle to find regular first team football at the Bernabeu.

Casemiro has made just nine appearances for the club since signing last year, all of them as a substitute.

Arsene Wenger says Jack Wilshere will be back and ready for the World Cup this summer.

The Arsenal midfielder has been out of action since picking up an injury playing for England in a friendly against Denmark.

“I would think two to three weeks. I spoke to Roy Hodgson and I told him that Wilshere will be available for England. He will be just polished for England,” Wenger was quoted over the weekend.

The Daily Star links the Gunners with another player, Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

Smalling has been used regularly by David Moyes this season as the Scot has struggled to work out his best back four.

A figure of around the £13 million mark has been suggested for the versatile right sided defender.
