Just a month ago Manchester City defender Micah Richards hailed Laurent Koscielny as the best defender in the Premier League.
Yet former Arsenal striker Ian Wright does not agree, omitting the Frenchman, along with Richards' teammate Vincent Kompany from his selection.
There's no place for Liverpool's in-form Martin Skrtel either, with Wright choosing Chelsea's Gary Cahill and Hull City's Curtis Davies instead.
Davies was on the losing side for Hull against the Gunners twice this campaign, but will get another opportunity to come out on top in next month's FA Cup Final.
In fact Wright does not pick a single Arsenal player in his XI, with three Chelsea, three Liverpool, and one Tottenham player in his team, choosing the consistent Hugo Lloris in goal.
Another former striker Michael Owen selected his team of the season over the weekend, also failing to select a single Arsenal player, opting for Martin Skrtel and John Terry at centre-back instead.
Given the superb partnership established and showcased between Koscielny and his teammate Per Mertesacker, both Arsenal players can be deemed unlucky not to feature. Aaron Ramsey would surely have been a must-pick, had injury not ruined his campaign.
Both will hope for better luck in the one which matters, the PFA Team of the Season.
