The German team are reported to want to sign the little brother of Chelsea’s playmaker Eden Hazard for the next season.

According to European websites and, Borussia Dortmund interested in signing Eden Hazard’s younger brother Thorgan Hazard for next season.

The 21-year-old midfielder belongs to Chelsea and plays at the moment on loan for Zulte-Waregem in Belgium.

This season he has already scored nine goals and provided 14 assists, which is why it was no surprise that he was voted there as the best player of the league, winning the Belgian 'Golden Ball'. Taking into account the large number of big talents that Belgium has produced recently, he might just become the next Belgian superstar.

Undoubtedly he has a lot of talent like his older brother who has been Chelsea’s best player of this season. Thorgan Hazard, whose first name was inspired by a Belgian comic strip, will come back to Chelsea this summer, but it is anything but clear if he´s going to stay there.

At Chelsea he would have to compete with players like Oscar, André Schürrle, Mohammed Salah, Willian and his brother Eden Hazard for the attacking midfielder positions. Maybe he would prefer to take a smaller step first in order to make sure that he will get enough playing time, and has commented previously that he is not averse to it.

At Dortmund the chances of playing more regularly might be better as their coach Jürgen Klopp has a penchant for young and hungry players.

Dortmund’s chairman Watzke said after the transfer of Adrian Ramos from Hertha Berlin that in contrast to Bayern they would only sign players who haven’t peaked yet and could therefore still develop at Dortmund. Thorgan Hazard would definitely fit into this profile.

The player himself revealed his plans after his return to Chelsea in the summer in an interview with the French newspaper La Tribune. “I will discuss the situation then. My preferences are the Premier League and the Bundesliga.”

It looks as if this young talent has already learned his lesson in diplomacy and with statements like this he keeps both options open.

In the end it will all depend on Mourinho and if he can offer Thorgan Hazard a realistic perspective at the Stamford Bridge.

A loan arrangement is most likely, otherwise he might play against, rather that together with his older brother in the Champions League one day.
