All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

The shocking rumours that Arsenal will be making a move for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling are gathering momentum. The Daily Star claim an exclusive on the story, which we among many reported two days ago, that a £12 million move for the player is being put together.

Smalling has reportedly angered David Moyes for some of his off-field antics and Wenger is believed to see him as perfect right and centre back cover for next season.

Wenger reportedly tried to sign him from Fulham before he headed to Old Trafford - and is set to test Moyes and the club’s resolve with a bid for the player in the summer.

Mesut Ozil is back in action today - and is set for a place on the bench against Hull City this afternoon.

Ozil has been training this week after recovering from a hamstring problem and he posted a cheeky message on Instagram yesterday confirming his recovery.

The £42.4 million man may not be fit to start but will hope to get some minutes out on the pitch against their FA Cup final opponents.

Arsenal have reportedly opened transfer talks with Serge Aurier.

The Ivorian has reportedly been a long term target for Arsene Wenger - and would provide cover at centre back whilst also offering an option, in light of Bacary Sagna’s expiring contract, at right-back.

The Toulouse defender has previously spoken of his dream to play for Arsenal.

Arsenal are after another Southampton starlet to add to their collection. They have already snapped up Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott from the St Marys Stadium - and now it is Callum Slattery who is in the crosshairs.

The 16-year-old is said to be stalling over a pre-contract agreement at the club and now the Gunners are looking to capitalise - although would have to pay a sizeable sum via tribunal.
