United morning news: Spanish target rules out move; £37m man says Moyes has full support

A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United may have had a season to forget, but club-record signing Juan Mata insists the players are fully behind manager David Moyes.

The Sun runs a story this morning saying as such, with the former Chelsea player insisting Moyes has not lost the dressing room – something that will no doubt be music to the ears of the United hierarchy as they hand the manager substantial funds this summer to strengthen the team.

Moving on, the Manchester Evening News publishes quotes from Moyes as he prepares to take his new club back to his old one.

United face Everton on Sunday, and the ex-Toffees manager said, “Great credit to Roberto (Martinez), but he has a great group of players who were always capable of going on again, of improving; maybe moving further up the league.”

And finally, the Express reports that Espanyol goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has no intention of moving to United…Arsenal…or anywhere else for that matter.

“My intention is to stay here,” the 27-year-old is quoted as saying, despite reports suggesting Moyes was keen to use him as back-up for David de Gea.
