Chelsea have so many talented young players in their team that they quite simply cannot house them all - and they are not shy of letting others borrow them.
Talents such as Thorgan Hazard, Bertrand Traore and Kenneth Omeruo are all currently out on loan at varying destinations - and many of them end up at the same place.
One such player is Lucas Piazon.
The Brazilian had an excellent first half of the season at Chelsea’s infamous farm club Vitesse Arnhem. Things have gone sour recently for the player - who has not scored a goal for the club in 2014 with his last strike coming on the 21st December.
Before that he had scored 11 in 16 games - but Vitesse have struggled in the new year - leading to extraordinary allegations that Chelsea do not want them qualifying for the Champions League - and that Vitesse follow that wish.
For Piazon it has been a tortuous few months - and this weekend he is back in London - as he confirmed via his Instagram account last night…
So while he can visit swanky bars in Mayfair right now, what with Vitesse not playing again until the 27th April, what about next year - can he book himself a place in the Chelsea first team.
It looks very unlikely.
He showed excellent promise early on in the campaign but that has dissipated - and what has followed has been a string of disappointing performances with little to show for.
Next season another loan spell beckons. Vitesse may be off the cards - as rumour has it Chelsea will attempt to step back from their partnership with the Eredivisie club from this summer - but for Piazon another year away from The Bridge seems likely.
So enjoy London while you can Lucas.
