Man United’s Javier Hernandez to Atletico – why it suits all parties

The Mexico international is being linked with a switch to the Spanish side, which seems to make sense for both teams and the player.

Manchester United have had a mediocre campaign by their high standards, but one man that will be looking for the campaign to end is Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican forward has been on the sidelines for the bulk of the season, overlooked by David Moyes in the favour of others and now must be wondering what the future holds.

Ateltico Madrid have been linked with a move for the out-of-favour hitman this summer, as Diego Simeone’s men brace themselves for life without Diego Costa.

If and when the Spain international moves to Chelsea, Ateltico will need a clinical, cut-throat centre forward that can convert the chances created by the Vicente Calderon outfit’s talented midfield.

Simeone also urges his team to press opponents from the front and as such Costa’s replacement must be someone hard-working and industrious.

Chicharito fits the bill on both accounts and has all the attributes to be the next star striker to the Spanish capital city outfit.

For United, links to the likes of Edinson Cavani have been doing the rounds and there is a chance that David Moyes will spend some of his summer warchest on a new striker.

As such, Hernandez’s time at Old Trafford appears numbered, but the chance to move to Atletico should be perfect for all parties.
