Fulham boss ahead of London derby: I'll ask Holtby for info on Spurs

Days after Cardiff reported Crystal Palace to the FA, Felix Magath admitted he will get as much info as possible on Tottenham, Fulham's next opponents.

This week saw Cardiff City report Crystal Palace to the FA for allegedly obtaining the Welsh side's starting XI ahead of the Londoner's 3-0 win in Wales.

The news caused many to question just how often such things occurred, as well as pondering the integrity of seeking inside information on opponents.

Many Fulham fans will argue that tomorrow's London derby between Tottenham and Fulham is of greater significance to the Cottagers than it is to the White Hart Lane outfit.

With Felix Magath's men edging closer to 17th position in the table, the final safe place come the end of the season, the financial reward is clear for all to see, while Spurs' ambitions of Champions League football look like being beyond their reach.

And ahead of Saturday's lunchtime kick off in North London, the German in charge of Fulham's late surge to safety has admitted he will try to get as much information as he can on his opponents, even asking his compatriot and Spurs loanee Lewis Holtby for any helpful information.

"Sure I ask Lewis how he sees the situation, but it is not the only kind of information I will get," said the former Bayern Munich manager. "I try to get all the information I can."

"You cannot blame anyone for trying to get information. If you are lucky, you can, so it is good.

"I think Tottenham will also try to get information from us," said Magath.

Whether Holtby will, or should enlighten his present teammates at Fulham to anything that may help them against his parent club is a matter of some debate, though of course Magath would rather he is on the pitch given his recent impressive form. That Holtby misses out as a result of the loan agreement may play into Tottenham's favour, whatever information the former Schalke man may or may not pass on.

Though there is likely to be no love lost between the two sides, one thing is for certain, neither club will be feeling particularly charitable to the other.
