The top five players linked with signing for Liverpool this week: Cuadrado, Barkley and more

Fiorentina, Everton, Hamburg, West Ham and Lille stars all feature.

It’s been a very emotional past seven days for Liverpool from that Steven Gerrard generated huddle after the Manchester City game to the Hillsborough Memorial service earlier this week.

There is plenty to be positive about for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool fans at the moment, with the possibility of some very good players coming into a side that could boast the Premier League champions tag next season.

Here are five of the best players to have been linked with the club.

Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina)

The striker and right winger is the ideal sort of attacking addition Brendan Rodgers could be looking for, as he mulls over how to provide SAS with support ahead of another Premier League assault and a new adventure in the Champions League. The £20 million rated star has seven goals and five assists in Serie A this season.

Ross Barkley (Everton)

What a bitter blow to Liverpool’s local rivals it would be if they signed one of their best prospects. However, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez said earlier this week that, according to the speculation, if Everton didn’t sell to Manchester United for £50 million, they’re not going to sell to Liverpool for £38 million.

Hakan Calhanoglu (Hamburg)

Another potential attacking signing is the Turkish international Hakan Calhanoglu. This won’t be a new name for Liverpool fans, as the forward was linked with the Reds earlier in the season. The problem is that there are several other Premier League sides thought to be interested.

Mohamed Diame (West Ham United)

Diame dropped a huge hint earlier this week that he’d be interested in a move to Liverpool, believing that they’re interested in signing him. The £3 million rated midfielder was close to joining Liverpool before, but he claims a move was stopped when the club sacked Kenny Dalglish.

Divock Origi (Lille)

The Belgian forward has been linked with a move to Liverpool with Arsenal also reportedly interested. He’s only 18-years-old and has bagged five goals for his current side Lille in Ligue One this season. He’s one of several players Brendan Rodgers is thought to be watching according to the Daily Mail.
