The top five players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Costa, Modric and more

Luka Modric

Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Hamburg and Hadjuk Split stars all feature.

Chelsea are in a solid position as they go into this weekend’s Premier League games and the crunch clash between themselves and Liverpool at Anfield the following weekend.

The Portuguese manager has been linked with plenty of potential signings ahead of the summer this past week. We’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with Stamford Bridge moves.

Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

Chelsea are thought to have moved quickly and early to get this deal done before a scrap could potentially break out in the summer. The figures being talked about (fee and personal contract) push the deal towards the €100 million mark, which could make any official transfer the biggest deal of the summer.

Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

Modric is a player Chelsea have been linked with before and that interest doesn’t appear to have completely faded away. The Croatian is the subject of reports which suggest that the Blues could send Oscar in the other direction to make sure they get their man.

Alberto Moreno (Sevilla)

Moreno is one of the best left-backs in Spain and a player who has previously been linked with the Blues as well as Manchester United. Reports suggest Mourinho isn’t willing to pay an over the top price for Southampton star Luke Shaw, which has prompted reports of a potential deal for Moreno to reappear.

Hakan Calhanoglu (Hamburg)

The Blues are thought to be mulling over a potential £13 million deal for the Turkish international, who has been linked with a variety of Premier League clubs. He could be a decent attacking addition but certainly won’t be the top, marquee attacking signing the club make this summer.

Mario Pasalic (Hadjuk Split)

A done deal according to the latest reports, with the player due to have a medical at the Blues at the end of the season. A fee of £3 million has been reported in connection with the transfer. Chelsea will reportedly send the 19-year-old out on loan next season following another early investment.
