Bayern Munich, FC Schalke, Benfica, Real Madrid and Lille stars all feature.
There’s a bit more to feel positive about at Arsenal heading into the weekend after a good win against West Ham United earlier this week.
The Gunners have control back in the race for the top four following Everton’s 3-2 defeat at home against Crystal Palace and should the North Londoners finish with Champions League football, they’ll be able to attract a higher calibre of player this summer.
Here are five of the best players linked with joining Arsenal this past week.
Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)
This isn’t the first time the Gunners have been linked with the Bayern forward and it won’t be the last. Latest reports suggest Mandzukic has emerged as an alternative target to Diego Costa, who seems more and more likely to end up moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Julian Draxler (FC Schalke)
Another player the Gunners have been linked with for a while. According to reports, his agent has just admitted that a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer is unlikely, despite rumours that Arsenal were close to getting a deal agreed for him in last winter’s transfer window.
One of the alternative striker targets the Gunners have been linked with but a very good, promising player all the same. He’s bagged 16 goals in 34 appearances this season, meaning a respectable strike rate but he would cost the Gunners a good whack of cash at £28 million.
Casemiro (Real Madrid)
TalkSPORT has suggested that Arsenal are interested in doing a deal for one of Real Madrid’s brightest young players in Casemiro. He’s only made a handful of first team appearances under Carlo Ancelotti this season but the 21-year-old holding midfielder is well rated in Spain.
Divock Origi (Lille)
The Daily Mail claimed that Arsenal were looking at the possibility of signing Lille forward Divock Origi. The 18-year-old has made a decent impact in Ligue One with the side, scoring five goals. However, Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested in him.
