Tevez compares current boss to Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson

Carlos Tevez

Juventus striker has compared head coach Antonio Conte to Old Trafford legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

Carlos Tevez has developed a reputation for having fractious relationships with managers throughout his career.

Sir Alex Ferguson bemoaned the mercurial striker’s attitude in training during his time on loan at Manchester United, later saying he wasn’t worth the sum required to sign him permanently.

After making the switch to Manchester City, Tevez infamously was handed a suspension for refusing Roberto Mancini’s orders to warm up against Bayern Munich.

And when the Citizens lifted the Premier League title in May 2012, the Argentine again courted controversy by raising an “RIP Fergie” banner at the celebratory parade in reference to his former boss.

Despite his chequered past with managers, however, Tevez has got on quite well with Antonio Conte since landing at Juventus last summer.

The Italian - acclaimed for his man management skills - has the Argentine back in top form with the Old Lady galloping towards a third straight Serie A title.

And Tevez has now heaped praise on Conte in a show of appreciation - by comparing him to Sir Alex Ferguson.

“Conte is already a top coach like Ferguson at Manchester United,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “It shows every game.

“A player alone cannot be more important than the team, which always proves stronger than the individual.”
