David Moyes was said to be taking in the Portuguese Cup semi-final last night - so who was he watching.
David Moyes has taken it upon himself to be something of a hands-on manager during his first season at Manchester United - and on several occasions he has been spotted around Europe taking in various games and scouting several players.
The score ended 3-1 with plenty of players putting in solid performances - but who would Moyes have been checking out in the first place?
Here are five potential objects of his affection…
A no brainer this one really. The Argentine centre back has been heavily linked with a move to United in recent months - and David Moyes has reportedly been to check him out before.
With Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand at the end of their United careers and the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans perpetually injury prone a new central defender is needed.
And this ball playing former Madrid man might just be the answer.
Another centre back - this time one of the Porto persuasion.
The French international has been heavily linked with a move to rivals Manchester City in recent weeks but United have also been heavily linked.
An expensive but talented option.
Another who has long been on Moyes’ radar the combative central midfielder is certainly one to look out for.
He recently signed a new deal at the club - but he did so in order to ensure Porto got a fee for his services rather than out of a desire to stay at the club.
Exactly what United would need in the heart of the park.
Another area for improvement that United must consider is at left-back.
Patrice Evra appears to be on his way out of the club - and Sandro has been linked before.
He did not have the best of games, however he would have impressed more than…
…the left back option from Benfica. Also linked with Everton and Liverpool he is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer.
He was sent off in the 28th minute so we doubt Moyes would have been too impressed with his display.
