Arsenal morning news: Draxler staying says agent; Koscielny interest

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

Arsenal’s Champions League hopes got a massive boost yesterday after Crystal Palace took all three points from Everton at Goodison Park.

However Roberto Martinez refused to concede fourth spot to The Gunners after the result:

"I don't think Arsenal will get full points from now until the end of the season. So one point and a better goal difference for us means we are still very much relying on what we do. The table looks like it [fourth place] is out of our hands but I believe it is still in our hands and will rest on the amount of points we get until the end of the season.”

In rather worrying news it looks as though Arsenal might be struggling to convince one of their star players to remain a Gunner.

Laurent Koscielny has been in excellent form this season - and the French international is reportedly set to be offered a bumper new contract to remain at the club amid some major interest from elsewhere.

Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and Bayern Munich are all said to be considering a move for the player - and Arsenal fear he could become the latest star to jump ship from The Emirates.

Arsenal will not be signing Julian Draxler in the summer according to the player’s agent.

Draxler is a long-term target of the club and has been heavily linked with moves to North London for the past 18 months.

However Roger Wittman has told Bild:

“Why should a player leave the club if the club have just built a top team? I also think it's good if players stick to what they have signed. It would take an awful lot to happen for one of the two to leave. And even then I'm not sure it would be possible. The players understand that there is currently a lot of peace at the club and a lot of optimism about their future there."
