Chelsea are expected to sign Diego Costa in the summer, with reports indicating that an agreement is close to being struck between the two clubs.
Even Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has admitted he will not stand in his way.
The deal is to be made simply thanks to the release clause in Costa's contract at £32 milion, a price which is looking like a bargain as the season goes on.
Any extra cash on Chelsea's part is looking like being put towards the striker's salary, with The Telegraph reporting Costa would earn £185,000 a week, approximately £10.5 million per year.
This would make him the club's joint highest earner with Eden Hazard, and put him in a very small band of players who are paid more annually than manager Jose Mourinho.
Fernando Torres and John Terry are the only two other players whose earnings come close, on £175,000 per week.
Mourinho earns an annual sum from Chelsea of £8.5 million per year.
There is one other party getting rich in all of this, the agent of both Jose Mourinho and Diego Costa, Jorge Mendes.
