This morning saw many papers announcing the news that Manchester United had three main transfer targets for the summer - and that they were confident of signing all three of them.
The players in question are Marco Reus, William Carvalho and Luke Shaw.
The latter would arrive as a replacement for the seemingly outgoing Patrice Evra - and his signature would come amongst interest from Chelsea in replacing Ashley Cole with the Southampton star.
The rumours are of a £30 million deal for the recent England debutant - and although The Saints are reluctant to sell recent revelations about their less than stable financial situation could see selling Shaw as a quick solution to their debts.
The Chelsea links have been the most prominent in recent weeks - not least because of his activity on Twitter.
The Surrey born star makes no excuses for where his football allegiances lie off the pitch - he is a proud Chelsea supporter.
But it is something he did on social media today which has seen him linked with a move to Manchester United even more heavily than he already was this morning.
He favourite this innocent looking Tweet - and sent Twitter into a mini-meltdown.
Of course this is probably a storm in a teacup. He was most likely just flattered by a fan taking such a keen interest in him - and he repaid them with a quick click of a button.
Once the frenzy got whipped up however, he quickly changed pressed a button again - ‘unfavouriting’ the Tweet in question.
But eagle-eyed and fast thumbed followers had already rumbled him - and Shaw has learnt a valuable lesson about the modern world of social interaction and professional football.
He then favourited this Tweet - suggesting he accidentally favourited the previous one...
