Jack Wilshere defends career record, Arsenal, after Twitter fan criticism

Jack Wilshere

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere came in for criticism on Twitter from a fan but defended himself and his club.

Jack Wilshere never responded to the criticism levelled at him from Paul Scholes a month ago, but when a Twitter user had a pop at him yesterday he couldn't help but respond.

It all started innocently enough, after the following Tweet from sportswear giants Nike, promoting him as key to England's World Cup chances.

It was then that Wilshere, dogged by injury ever since, found himself drawn into an exchange which saw him defend his own personal achievements, and Arsenal's lack of trophies.

Fair play to Wilshere for standing up for his record and having his say, but the best way to silence his critics will be on the pitch, particularly if he can recover to help Arsenal to win an FA Cup next month.
