'I've been given a setback' - Liverpool star Sturridge on his injury

Daniel Sturridge has shared an ominous Instagram message as we await news of his hamstring injury.

Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-2 last weekend in a crunch Premier League title race decider … but at what cost.

The club saw Jordan Henderson fly into a suspension with a stupid tackle on Samir Nasri but not before Daniel Sturridge limped out of action with a hamstring problem.

With the England striker in superb form this was both a worry for Liverpool fans and England fans - as his excellent strike rate was supposed to fire England in Brazil this summer.

So far there has been no official word on his injury woe - with Liverpool awaiting the results of tests in the injury.

But it certainly doesn’t look good looking at his Instagram account.

He has just posted this message accompanied with this picture - suggesting that things are not straight forward regarding a recovery.

Here is what he chose to share with his followers…

dstudge It's an important time in my life and I've been given a setback but that will equal a comeback..

That does not sound good.

However - it seems he is in fact being a pessimist in his statement.

Earlier in the day his uncle, and former Premier League striker Dean Sturridge, shared a Vine regarding his nephews fitness and seemed to suggest he would only be out for a couple of games at best.

Meanwhile Liverpool have announced he will be given every chance to make the weekend game against Norwich City.

Liverpool fans await the news of a scan with baited breath.
