A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday evening.

Young striker Harry Kane has said that Spurs have a promising set of youngsters coming through the ranks at the moment, and has said it is great that they’re being brought into the first team setup.

The forward said they all have the potential and ability to ‘push on and make a statement’ in the side.

Kane is quoted by Sky Sports, saying: “It’s important for English football and club football to be getting a chance at the top level and I feel every time we’ve had a chance, we’ve done well.

“The fans like big signings and new players coming in but there are home-grown players who have been there for years who wear the shirt with pride and want to prove themselves. It’s good competition.”

One young player who is currently on loan at QPR is Tom Carroll, and he has been quoted saying that he wants to make the grade at Tottenham.

He said: “I’ve been there since I was eight so it’s obviously a club close to my heart.

“I’m contracted at Spurs and it’s down to the two clubs to talk. QPR’s a great club and I’ve enjoyed my time here, so we'll see what happens.”

As has been reported on several occasions, Louis Van Gaal is the firm favourite to be the boss at White Hart Lane next season but are reporting that the Netherlands coach is making the club wait over any decision.

It is understood Van Gaal is considering his options with Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino also linked with job in North London.

Zeki Fryers has said it was a great feeling when Christian Eriksen scored the late equaliser in the 3-3 draw against West Bromwich Albion, as Spurs completed a terrific comeback at The Hawthorns last weekend.

Fryers told the club’s website: “We kept working hard, showed focus and concentration and managed to pull it back to 3-3.

“Had we played how we did in the second half for the whole game and not conceded early, we probably would have won.”
