Former Gunner Ray Parlour has revealed his nickname for Arsene Wenger when he arrived at the club.
Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has revealed his nickname for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, owing to his clumsy nature.
Former FA Cup final goal hero Parlour told SkySports:
"He as a little bit of an Inspector Clouseau, that was my nickname for him.
"There were moments where he tripped over and got caught in the net, but he laughed it off."
It was a story affectionately told, with Parlour having nothing but praise for his former boss, who recently celebrated his 1,000th game at the club.
Inspector Jacques Clouseau is a fictional character from the Pink Panther series of films, with the character notorious for his bumbling nature.
Intriguingly it's a side of Wenger which has rarely come across in public, apart from one moment of infamous regularity - his struggles with his zip on his giant coat.
