Wolfenstein: The New Order new gameplay trailer released

Wolfenstein The New Order

Keep the love alive for one of the franchises that defined the genre on a beefed up mech-nazi killing rampage.

Bethesda have been putting some effort into fleshing out the alternative, ‘this is what could of happened if Hitler had won’ scenario behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. Firstly we saw some modified images: an A-bomb going off in New York and a Nazi moon-landing. Then a soundtrack of Teutonic reworkings of 60s classics surfaced.

While this is a straight up FPS romper-stomper early teases of the gameplay give hints to some half-decent voice parts (not including German accents) and a dark industrial setting that gives a consistent depth of tone to the proceedings.

Maybe the new Wolfenstein game will have more to get your teeth into over and above the usual, ‘shoot bad-guys with overpowered weapons’ bit, but this is Wolfenstein and seeing the franchise getting pumped full of steroids for the 8th generation is gratifying enough.

The trailer is below for your viewing pleasure. Wolfenstein: The New Order is due out on May 20th on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Are you going to be playing the new Wolfenstein game?
