After recently finished 20th in The Masters to earn a $101,160 winners cheque, English golfer Ian Poulter - ranked number five in golf - caught up with his club Arsenal but fumed at Olivier Giroud's first half performance against West Ham United earlier this evening, Tuesday, at the Emirates Stadium.
Are you kidding over a £100K a week and you can't hit it with your right foot. Come on....— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) April 15, 2014
Giroud had four shots on goal throughout the match, completed 73% of his passes but only really came alive in the second half.
In the 55th minute he netted a six-yard shot with his right foot, the one he lacked confidence to shoot with earlier to end up dinking a left footed effort wide of the mark, after Thomas Vermaelen played him in.
He has a right foot at last.....— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) April 15, 2014
The fact that Poulter was being critical of Giroud, yet earned a near identical amount to the Frenchman for his showing at last weekend's major golf tournament, was not lost on some of his followers, however, Poulter - who often trains at Arsenal's Hertfordshire base when he is in London - riposted that if he doesn't perform then he doesn't get paid as golf payments are based on final rankings.
