PSN rumoured to be down for maintenance on Easter Monday.

Ps4 Unveil

Sony Online entertainment Europe are believed to be scheduling server maintenance over the Easter break.

The rumoured downtime was announced by PlayStation English community manager Chris Owen on Twitter and got reported by SixthAxis, although the original tweet has since been removed.

If the work goes ahead some online features will be out of action for 12 hours from 4pm BST on Monday April 21 to 4am BST on Tuesday April 22. PlayStation Home, PlayStation Store and account management options will be unavailable. Online gaming will still be available to users who have their authentication details being recently signed into PSN.

The alleged work could be in support of the latest PS4 update which will be bringing in better functionality for game footage sharing, including the ability to turn off HDCP encryption so gamers can stream in HDMI to a capture card.

Sucker Punch have also hinted that pre-load functionality will be coming to PS4 this month although we’ll just have to wait and see if this is also brought in with the next patch.

You may want to plan ahead if you were thinking of having a gaming sesh on Easter Monday.
