The effect Suarez has had on Liverpool's goal tally

Liverpool have scored 93, but a lot of that is down to their Uruguayan star.

It has been incredible season so far for Luis Suarez and Liverpool and there has been a bit of debate as to just how important the Uruguayan is to the Reds’ cause.

The Uruguayan arrived into Liverpool's season late, after he returned from his ten game ban for biting Chelsea Branislav Ivanovic – which was carried over to this campaign having missed the last one, meaning he missed the first five games of Liverpool’s season.

The Reds have scored 93 goals in the Premier League this season, and they still have four more games to go as they currently sit in the driving seat to deliver their first top flight crown in 24 years – their first in the Premier League era.

Suarez has scored 29 of them and is on course for the Golden Boot – as well as the Player of the Year for this season. But here's a look at a couple of things other than just scoring goals:

There is the aspect that Suarez has been the last player to touch the ball before an opposition player has handled it to give away penalty. Also there are shots he may have saved that have been put in to the net by other players.

Given that the Uruguayan missed the first five games of the season, the fact he is the top scorer in the Premier League is staggering, that he has scored three hat-tricks this season to along with it is incredible. These statistics show he has been involved in 44 of Liverpool's 93 goals this season, just over 47% of the goals Liverpool have scored so far this season.

Of course, there is more, there always seems to be more with Suarez, and the statistic of his average scoring attempts per minute just shows how much of a nuisance he is.

He's a creator as well, but getting at least five scoring attempts per game away must give opponents nightmares, especially given the variety of goals that the Uruguayan does score, some of them spectacular, some of them made to look so simple. To think people said he couldn't finish the simple chances is now laughable.
