Another impressive round of Premier League action has been and gone with some important performances at either end of the Premier League table.
Liverpool secured a dramatic win against Manchester City while Demba Ba seems to be making a habit of dramatic late goals to keep Chelsea in with a chance of winning silverware this season.
There were also important wins for Crystal Palace, Cardiff City and Fulham, all battling hard to avoid the drop at the other end of the table.
We’ve taken a look at the best performer over the weekend in five key areas.

Three players stand out there in terms of important goals; Ba, Coutinho and Eriksen. Coutinho in particular showed great skill to jump all over Vincent Kompany’s mistake at Anfield like a rash, with a neat finish past Joe Hart which keeps Liverpool in the title race.

Lambert deserves a special mention considering the recent injury to his Southampton teammate Jay Rodriguez. In light of that knee problem, Lambert has just been placed under extreme pressure. He was one of the most accurate strikers at the weekend, which makes the Saints’ defeat disappointing.
|Mile Jedinak||Crystal Palace||MF||11||1||90|
|Pablo Zabaleta||Man City||DF||10||1||90|
No player was more effective over the weekend when it came to interceptions than Mile Jedinak. He read the game superbly against Aston Villa, which allowed his side to keep the pressure up over their opponents, as he cut off the angles and made it difficult for Villa to move the ball around.
The fact three Saints players appear at the top of this list will worry Mauricio Pochettino considering his side were defeated. His team protected the ball well and passed effectively but didn’t do enough to make the most of their chances in important situations.
|Morgan Amalfitano||West Brom||MF||7||1||90|
Jose Mourinho will be pleased to see Mo Salah with the most dribbles over the weekend. He seems to finally be getting into the swing of Premier League football as he seeks to put pressure on Willian, Andre Schurrle and Eden Hazard over the rest of the season.
