Ryan Giggs has had an illustrious career that has spanned 23 years but if you could pick one moment on the pitch that defines his career then it would be his wonderful solo goal against Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park 15 years ago today.
With the match tied at 1-1 in extra-time and Manchester United down to 10-men, Giggs delivered the all important goal that was crucial in their eventual treble winning season. Peter Schmeichel had saved a penalty just moments earlier from Dennis Bergkamp before Giggs took matters into his own hands and secured United's place in the FA Cup final.
Can you remember who got the assist for Giggs' goal? It was Arsenal legend Patrick Vieria who shockingly played the ball across the pitch straight to Giggs when another Arsenal player was barely in sight.
One of the most iconic images from that night was the resultant celebration from the Welshman when he took off his shirt and celebrated wildly with his hairy chest on show to all. It was a huge goal in the history of the club and one that will never be forgotten.
The Arsenal defenders on that day could not manage to nudge Giggs off the ball, after all it was 110 minutes into the game and there weary legs simply couldn't keep up with him.
The finish from the winger was impeccable given that fact that when he was eventually through on goal he had very little of the goal to aim for and David Seaman looked to have it covered. Giggs managed to smash it into the roof of the net to take United to Wembley.
