A round of news stories this morning about Chelsea.
The Blues have been linked with the La Liga striker for most of this season and could face him in the Champions League semi-final.
He’s scored an impressive 32 goals for Atletico so far this season.
Jose Mourinho’s assistant says the reason for Chelsea’s off the pace performance against Swansea City was their participation in the Champions League.
The Blues defeated PSG over two legs with the second game at Stamford Bridge last week before struggling to a 1-0 win in Wales.
“We played in the Champions League in the week, and it was a physically and emotionally draining game. It was difficult to go again, but we stuck to it and came through,” said Steve Holland.
Chelsea skipper John Terry has said winning the league this season is going to be tough.
The Blues are in a good position as they compete alongside Liverpool and Manchester City who played each other at Anfield yesterday, with Liverpool winning 3-2.
“It’s very tough, it’s very important we keep winning our games, but it’s out of our hands at the moment,” Terry told Sky Sports.
