Robin van Persie’s future at Manchester United is starting to be questioned, with the Dutch forward not linking up well with Wayne Rooney this season and suffering debilitating injuries.
As such, with the Old Trafford outfit ready to splash the cash this summer, a new centre forward could well be on David Moyes’ wishlist.
Sport Star Sunday claim that the Scottish manager has identified Edinson Cavani as the striker to bag the necessary goals for the Red Devils next season, and will make a bumper bid for the Paris Saint-Germain attacker in the summer.
The report claims that United are willing to smash their club transfer record by offering £50 million for the Uruguayan and will through Nani into the deal also.
Cavani has consistently been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes due to predominantly being used in a wide position by Laurent Blanc.
Nani on the other hand has fallen out of favour at United despite singing a new five-year contract last year and has only started five Premier League games this season – largely due to injury.
With PSG expected to spend big in the summer once more, selling Cavani to balance the books may well appeal.
