Chelsea morning news: Ba 'looking to leave' and people 'can't stand' Mourinho

All the latest news and gossip from Stamford Bridge this morning.

Demba Ba is apparently set to leave Chelsea.

The Senegalese striker - who was recently their hero against PSG has even admitted he could make a move to the French capital:

"I'm looking to leave Chelsea. I want to play the full 90 minutes, get the maximum number of games and enjoy myself. I've not done that very much this season, and I doubt things will change for me here. I could well imagine myself at PSG … if PSG are looking for someone to play alongside Zlatan, then I'm their man.”

Jose Mourinho is not a popular manager in Europe according to Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman.

The Dutch boss, who is a fan of the Portuguese manager, believes that many top coaches on the continent are not impressed with his touchline antics and playing style:

“Many people in the game can’t stand Mourinho - I am the opposite. Mourinho may not create the most beautiful style of football. But he does create winners. Nobody turns his players into winners more than he does. This man gets the maximum out of his teams.”

He highlighted the recent Champions League win over PSG as an example of the ‘winning mentality’ Jose installs in his outfits.

Manuel Pellegrini has taken a more personal swipe at Mourinho - suggesting it would be bad for football is Chelsea win the league.

Ahead of a crucial day in the title race the Manchester City boss stated:

“It would be very disappointing - for football, for the fans, for everyone. I think the most attractive football, the more goals you can score, should be rewarded. I’m not saying it’s not important to defend very well. Football is attacking and defending. But I think big teams must play as big teams.”

It is reported that Chelsea will miss out on Benfica star Lazar Markovic - to Liverpool. The Serbian came very close to signing for The Blues in 2013 - but now it seems that Anfield could be his next destination.
