United morning news: ‘Secret meeting’ with Dutchman; Old Trafford changes spark 'fan fury'

Old Trafford

A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United...

The Mirror claims Manchester United representatives have held secret talks with Dutch coach Louis van Gaal sometime in the last two days. The report adds that stories in Holland claim United have sounded out the apparent Tottenham target about the possibility of replacing David Moyes at Old Trafford.

Moyes has endured a tough debut season at United, with the side now extremely unlikely to qualify for the Champions League and out of every cup competition following their defeat to Bayern Munich last Wednesday.

In other news, the Manchester Evening News reports on what they call “fan fury” after claiming some United season ticket holders will be moved to other areas of the ground to accommodate the stadium’s new permanent singing section.

The section was trialled earlier in this campaign, and a section of around 1,600 season ticket holders will now be housed in the North East Quadrant of Old Trafford in an attempt to boost the atmosphere at the ground from the start of the new campaign.
