Tottenham pulled off a stunning comeback as they came from 3-0 down to rescue a point against West Bromwich Albion.
Spurs' faint hopes of a top four finish were all but ended as they left The Hawthorns with just a point - but having been 3-0 down, they were lucky to get that.
The Baggies were 3-0 up inside half an hour after goals from Matej Vydra, Chris Brunt and Stephane Sessegnon, whilst Emmanuel Adebayor missed a penalty for Spurs at 2-0 down - with terrible defending and little to shout about in front of goal, Spurs looked dead and buried - until Jonas Olsson's own goal gave them hope before half time.
Striker Harry Kane equalised as Tottenham dominated the second half, before Christian Eriksen unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner in stoppage time to rescue a dramatic point - even if it wasn't quite what they needed.
Tottenham fans were happy to have made such a fightback, but were also questioning why a team challenging for the top four were 3-0 down to West Brom in the first place. There was also plenty of praise for hero Eriksen, who many believe can become as important as Gareth Bale was to the club.
Sherwood has 100% got the players backing, unreal comeback. Eriksen will be world class in a few years. #THFC— Sam Chapman (@Schappy10) April 12, 2014
The only players I saw playing as if worthy of the shirt today were Eriksen and Kane! Need better! #THFC— Peter Eades (@PeterEades1) April 12, 2014
I dont know what Sherwood did wrong, the defensive errors clearly players fault, and the attacking has been easy on the eye. #thfc— Holly Gandalesta (@gandalesta) April 12, 2014
I'm glad we showed character to come from behind, but I wish we didn't need that kind of motivation. #thfc— The Tottingham Spurs (@TottinghamSpurs) April 12, 2014
FT: Earned a point after being 3-0 down. Means nothing in the long run but avoided what would have been a painful defeat. #THFC— Talking THFC™ (@TalkingTHFC) April 12, 2014
Keep lloris and Eriksen and build a whole team around them. Not bothered about the rest #thfc— Simon Margolis (@Si_Margolis) April 12, 2014
Eriksen's reaction says it all there. Hands on hips, Shaking his head. Players that good shouldn't be in a team like this. #THFC— Jon Gilbert (@jongilbert1988) April 12, 2014
