Three points are vital for both teams today as Everton travel to struggling Sunderland in search of a big three points.
The Toffees can go fourth with a win and are on a high after thrashing Arsenal 3-0 last Sunday, closing the gap to the Gunners to just one point, and with Arsene Wenger's side in FA Cup action this weekend, this is essentially Everton's game in hand.
A win today would be their seventh in a row as manager Roberto Martinez continues to impress since replacing David Moyes last summer, whilst it would also take them to 66 points - their highest ever Premier League total.
But despite Gus Poyet's side being rooted to the bottom of the table, the Black Cats are capable of a surprise and did just that in the reverse fixture, defeating Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park in December.
Poyet will be hoping for the same again, but have won just two of the last 18 meetings between the two sides, whilst they are also winless in the last seven games in all competitions - the omens don't look good for Sunderland.
