Arsenal and Inter to battle over Real Madrid wonderkid – report

The North London outfit are being linked with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, according to reports in Spain.

Arsenal’s focus for the rest of the season will be to lift the FA Cup and qualify for the Champions League again, before a summer of reinforcement is needed.

After signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, the North London side are being linked with another Santiago Bernabeu raid.

Marca state that the Gunners are eyeing up talented Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who has had limited opportunities to play in the Spanish capital this season.

The report indicates that Arsene Wenger’s men will face competition from Inter Milan for the South American playmaker’s signature, with the player surplus to requirements under Carlo Ancelotti.

After a loan move to Madrid from Sao Paulo, his move to Spain was made permanent in June 2013.

However, with the presence of the likes of Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric and Asier Illarramendi, Casemiro has been limited to only eight La Liga substitute appearances this season.

The 22-year-old, who has been capped five times by Brazil, has recently been vocal in his disdain at the lack of opportunities to play.
