Manchester City, Dynamo Kiev, Rubin Kazan, Feyenoord and Burnley stars all feature.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has a difficult job this summer as he tries to improve his side’s squad.
Liverpool will be able to attract a variety of new players due to their Champions League participation next season, but Rodgers won’t have the vast financial resources enjoyed by some of the club’s main rivals.
It’s important he prepares a new squad well with more matches next season and the fact teams will be wiser to the tactics Liverpool use.
Here are five of the best players to have been linked with the club this past week.
Micah Richards (Manchester City)
Rodgers could offer Richards a way out of Manchester where he’s so far been forced to endure a terrible time of things due to injury. His performances have been inconsistent and with a possible fee of around £7 million, the Liverpool boss could be tempted to invest in the 25-year-old.
Younes Belhanda (Dynamo Kiev)
The £12 million rated winger has been linked with Liverpool before and they could have a fresh chance to go after him. Reports this week have suggested Montpellier are trying to cancel the deal, which saw him move to Kiev as they haven’t paid the full amount of the transfer fee agreed between the two clubs.
Yann M’Vila (Rubin Kazan)
Another player who has been linked with Liverpool more than once. He was recently told by his current coach that he’s not good enough to justify a move to Anfield but Brendan Rodgers is still reported to be keen to make his own judgement on the 23-year-old’s ability.
Stefan de Vrij (Feyenoord)
De Vrij is a player Rodgers has been tracking for well over a year and a player who could further improve the back four. The 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season and after talks over a new deal at the Dutch club broke down, they may be forced to sell him this summer.
Danny Ings (Burnley)
The England under-21 international has been one of the best strikers in the Championship this season. He was superb for Burnley over the first half of the season and Liverpool are thought to be interested. If they move for him then they’re likely to face competition from Southampton.
