The top five players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Pogba, Sneijder and more

Sneijder, Robben and De Jong Netherlands

FC Porto, Juventus, Galatasaray, CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow stars all feature.

Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the Premier League, they have one of the best managers in the world in Jose Mourinho and they have a vast pool of resources which allows them to compete financially for the best players.

Therefore, it’s no wonder that the Blues get linked with some of the best players in different positions on a weekly basis as Mourinho mulls over who to sign to improve his team this summer.

Here are five of the best players linked with the club this week.

Jackson Martinez (FC Porto)

Martinez isn’t a new name in this future as he’s been linked with Chelsea before. His solid record in Portuguese football over the last couple of seasons makes him a potentially very good signing for the Blues and someone who could be prolific in the Chelsea attack.

Paul Pogba (Juventus)

The Frenchman has improved rapidly since he left Manchester United to link up with the Serie A giants. He’s been effective with goals and assists and Mourinho seems to have pinpointed him as a midfielder he’d like to go after. However, he has a massive reported transfer fee of €70 million.

Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray)

The Daily Star claimed earlier this week that Mourinho was interested in making a move for the £12 million former Real Madrid and Inter Milan man. Mourinho has worked with the Dutchman before but Manchester United are also reportedly still keen on a deal.

Seydou Doumbia (CSKA Moscow)

One of the lower profile striker targets linked with a move to Chelsea. He has a good record this season of 16 goals in 18 games but if the Blues move for Doumbia, they will face competition from Arsenal and Tottenham, both keen on him according to the Daily Mail.

Romulo Borges (Spartak Moscow)

Another of the lower profile transfer targets linked with the club this week. Borges’ arrival at Stamford Bridge would certainly raise a few eyebrows but it may be difficult because he appears to have set his sights on a move to current Spanish champions Barcelona.
