Tomas Rosicky was also in training despite all three reportedly needing fitness tests.
For The Gunners the idea of winning silverware has become more important than qualifying for the Champions League over the years - and that is no different this weekend.
The club need a trophy in that cabinet - with it fast looming a decade since they last lifted a winning cup, and against Championship opponents in Wigan they will be expected to reign victorious.
However this is a Wigan side in form, who defeated Manchester City in the last round and are also, of course, the reigning FA Cup winners - so taking them lightly would be a perilous thought.
With that in mind Arsenal will still want a full squad - something the return to full fitness of Aaron Ramsey has certainly aided.
But Arsene Wenger was gloomy about several player’s prospects of featuring this weekend during his Thursday press conference.
“I cannot give you concrete team news because we have so many uncertainties about Chamberlain (groin), Gibbs (ankle), Rosicky (thigh). There will be last-minute decisions on those three players. They are all 50:50.”
Well photos from Arsenal training today would certainly suggest they are nearing a return at least. All three players were in action and came through the session unscathed at London Colney - as Arsenal prepare for a cup game they should thrive in.
And having these boys in action will be a massive help.
