Inquest finds that former Deutsche banker died by accident

A former bank vice president drowned in a fast-flowing stream after going to check out the water supply to nearby houses.

The Daily Post reports that Susan Hewitt, 49, was found lying in the swollen river – just two days before Christmas.

The former Deutsche Bank VP is thought to have gone to check a pipe swept aside by the torrent of water.

Lodger Ian Bruce McMillan, who lived with Mrs Hewitt and her husband Maeyc at their home in Ty’n y Maes, Nant Ffrancon, Wales, Bethesda told an inquest at Llangefni Thursday that nearby houses were supplied with water from the river which was piped into a collection tank.

Mrs Hewitt would go and check the pipe around 2-3 times a day.

He said: 'She went up around 4pm on that day. She said: ‘I am just going to check the water.’ She put her wellingtons on and went through the back door'. She never returned.
