Pepe Mel has spoken highly of Tottenham's Head Coach ahead of their meeting this weekend.
Sherwood took over from Andre Villas-Boas in December when the Portuguese coach was relieved of his duties at White Hart Lane following heavy defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding the future of Sherwood at Spurs – as he is said to be replaced in the summer with Louis Van Gaal heavily fancied to be in charge of the club next season.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the two side’s meeting, Mel said: “I think that he came into the job at a very difficult time and as far as I can see he’s done a good job and they’re fighting for Europe so I think that he’s done well.”
Spurs are currently five points behind fourth-placed Arsenal as they look to keep their slim hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive this weekend.
Pepe Mel is under a degree of pressure as well as he looks to keep the Baggies in the Premier League – and it has been reported that even he doesn’t know if he will be at The Hawthorns next season, even if he keeps the side up.
