City and United fans react on Twitter to Eliaquim Mangala's performance vs Sevilla

Eliaquim Mangala

Manchester United and Manchester City target Eliaquim Mangala produced a disappointing performance in front of scouts as Sevilla crushed Porto 4-1.

A Europa League performance against Sevilla could prove to be a summer changing one for 23-year-old Eliaquim Mangala, as he produced an absolute horror show.

The former Standard Liege defender has been linked to Manchester United and Manchester City for sums roughly around the €30 million mark. However, on last night's showing - knocking more than one zero off that price wouldn't be that harsh.

He was largely at fault for two of the goals, the first coming from left-sided attacker Vitolo in the 26th minute, in which he can be seen chasing shadows in a half-hearted attempt to win the ball:

And once again for the last Sevilla goal on the night, this time from former Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro:

Mangala can be seen losing concentration and desire to win the ball, which in turn has allowed Gameiro to get in ahead of him and put the ball in the goal from close range. A poor showing by all accounts.

The French centre-back was equally as poor statistically too. He recorded no tackles, no interceptions and only two effective clearances in the match. In fact, out of the 28 players who made it on the pitch, he was rated as the second worst, only beaten to last place by teammate Danilo, who conceded the penalty.

Supporters of the clubs reportedly interested in him were also shocked by the defenders 'off-night' and were quick to raise their concern on Twitter.
