Chelsea morning news: Lukaku plays down Chelsea exit, Schurrle confident ahead of last four

A round up of the news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku has played down reports linking him with a move away from Chelsea.

The Belgian striker has been in great form for Everton this season and has been tipped to leave the West Londoners this summer, with a high profile forward coming in.

“I’m trying not to look too far ahead for now - This is a team that is growing and for me, I just want to help Everton instead of thinking about myself and the next step,” he told the Express.

Andre Schurrle has revealed he thinks the Blues are ready for anyone ahead of the Champions League semi-final draw later today.

Chelsea will face either Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the last four of the competition.

“We can win against every team. If you have John Terry, Frank Lampard on the pitch, they’ve seen everything in football. And it gives you a good feeling because they know what to do,” said the German.

German newspaper Bild has suggested that Chelsea could face competition from local rivals Fulham in the race to sign Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez.

The versatile defender has been identified as a possible summer addition for the Blues with Jose Mourinho keen to improve his back four.

However, Fulham’s struggles this season have apparently prompted Fulham boss Felix Magath into going after him.
