Chelsea fans react on Twitter to Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid

Here's what Chelsea fans have made of their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea have been handed a Champions League semi-final tie against Spanish high flyers Atletico Madrid, which presents the Blues with a chance to make it into the final for the second time in three years.

Mourinho v Simeone, Cech v Courtois and Diego Costa facing the side he could be playing for next season, there are match ups all over this tie which will be mouth watering for Blues fans across Europe to take in.

There is still some debate over whether the Belgian will be line-up against the Blues with UEFA stating he’s allowed to play but several indications that Atletico won’t field him for the match at Chelsea’s request.

Spanish based journalist Guillem Balague has suggested that should the Belgian be prevented from playing then Chelsea face the possible punishment of a fine.

Chelsea played well earlier this week to earn the right to take on Atletico, sneaking through against Paris Saint-Germain on the away goal rule after they were beaten 3-1 in France.

It’s most likely the draw Jose Mourinho would have asked for were he given a choice but it’s not all rosy for the Blues as one of their best players, Eden Hazard, will miss the first leg at least through injury.

Mourinho has had battles against Atletico in the past during his time in charge of Real Madrid so the Blues will have some inside knowledge of how Atletico play and the way the club works.

He’ll have to be at his tactical best to help his side get the better of an extremely aggressive and attacking side.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid meet in the other semi-final which means a repeat of the 2012 final which saw Chelsea lift the European Cup is on the cards.

Here’s what Chelsea fans have made of the draw via social media site Twitter.
