It has been a nightmare season for AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy but he seems to be headed for a return from injury and could be back on the radars of some top European clubs.
The 21-year-old became hot property at the start of last season when he netted 14 goals for Milan and led the Serie A scoring chart.
The second half of the campaign was tougher and a series of fitness problems have seen El Shaarawy's rise to stardom stopped in its tracks.
In the summer, Arsenal and Liverpool were both linked to the Italian international but Milan were insistent he was staying put.
However, El Shaarawy was sidelined again early in the season and a foot problem has seen him sit out almost all of the campaign.
While Milan have struggled for fluency in front of goal, El Shaarawy has been forced to sit and watch and reported interest from various major clubs has gone cold.
At present Milan are taking it easy and don't want to rush El Shaarawy's return to the senior side, but there are already rumours about his future.
It has been suggested that ex-Genoa man will look for a new club in the summer and Arsenal and Liverpool could get a bargain if they are willing to take the risk.
The last few months on the sidelines will have hit El Shaarawy's value significantly and he may be available for less than £10m.
