Predicted Arsenal XI to play Wigan - Ramsey to start!

England Wembley

Match to be played at Wembley on Saturday April 12 at 17:07 GMT.

Arsenal head into their biggest game of the season this weekend when they take on Wigan Athletic in the semi-final of the FA Cup.

The Gunners will be looking to react to the 3-0 defeat to Everton last weekend, giving themselves a chance of a first piece of silverware since 2005. However, it won’t be easy as this Wigan side have already put out Manchester City.

Here’s the team Arsene Wenger could go with.

GK – Lukasz Fabianski

Wenger confirmed this morning that Fabianski would be starting the game. He's been superb when his side have needed him to step up this season.

RB – Bacary Sagna

The French defender continues a tussle with the club over his future but he’s still the best right-back option they have.

CB – Per Mertesacker

The big German needs to play calm and sensible football, providing leadership and organisation from the back of the side.

CB – Thomas Vermaelen

The Belgian defender is a very important player for Arsenal. He’s their captain and players will look to him if the match doesn’t go according to plan.

LB – Nacho Monreal

Monreal will keep his place in the back four if Kieran Gibbs hasn’t recovered from the knock, which kept him out of the Everton game.

RM – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Ox is a good player for Arsenal to have ahead of this game because his pace is important on a big, wide open pitch like the one at Wembley.

DM – Mikel Arteta

With Mathieu Flamini suspended, Arteta will most likely drop into the defensive midfield role.

CM – Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey could start this game after he completed a comeback from injury. He can provide the sort of driving, dynamic force which has been missing from the Arsenal midfield recently.

AM – Santi Cazorla

Arsenal need Cazorla to get on the ball and be influential in this game. He’s really struggled over the last couple of weeks in the absence of Mesut Ozil.

LM – Lukas Podolski

The German may keep his starting place out on the left hand side. He’s a good player to have cutting in and joining the play centrally.

ST – Olivier Giroud

Giroud has been slaughtered by some sections of Arsenal fans but this is a chance for him to perform on a big stage and put Arsenal into the final.
