PHOTO: Injury boost for Liverpool as Agger returns to action

Liverpool look set to have Daniel Agger available for the Manchester City game this weekend after his knee problem.

Ahead of the tough game with West Ham United last weekend one position Brendan Rodgers didn’t want to deal with late withdrawals from was centre back.

With bruising centre forwards like Andy Carroll to go up against he needed his full complement - so seeing Daniel Agger pull out at the last minute with a knee injury was not the best news he could have received before the game.

Mamadou Sakho, give him credit, came in and did an excellent job against difficult opposition as Liverpool won 2-1 - but it goes without saying that Brendan Rodgers will want his number one partnership back for the crunch game against Manchester City this weekend.

So here is a picture he will be very happy to see…

Yes that is the Great Dane back in action ready to take on Manchester City this weekend - and he certainly didn’t seem to wimping out of much win this snapshot.

Nope, this looks like classic Agger as he goes into a clash with Liverpool’s star man Luis Suarez.

At the weekend it will be Toure, Silva, Negredo, Dzeko and co - maybe even Sergio Aguero - so Agger will be a welcome boost for Brendan Rodgers.
