Liverpool latest: Suarez' frightening message for rivals, Reds to get an extra £25m

A round up of the latest news stories and transfer rumours about Liverpool from the past 24 hours.

Luis Suarez has a frightening message for the rest of the Premier League; he thinks he can get even better. Suarez has an astonishing tally of 29 goals in 28 appearances already this season.

“You always want to improve as you progress through the different seasons. If you don’t want to constantly improve then you might as well give up,” he told the club’s website.

Suarez has also revealed that the current side isn’t getting carried away with talk of the Premier League title, stressing the side has to concentrate only on the next team they’re due to face.

Liverpool are set for a £25 million financial boost if they qualify for the Champions League. The Reds are odds on favourites to hold a top four slot and that’s the minimum fee they will receive just for playing in the group stage.

“Last season Liverpool had total revenue of £206m, but the club will be able to negotiate substantial increases with commercial partners if they can add Champions League exposure,” said Kieran Maguire of the school’s Football Industries Group.

Manchester City defender Micah Richards has once again been linked with a move to Anfield. Richards has struggled to gain regular football under Manuel Pellegrini due to injury and Brendan Rodgers could give him a second chance, with the right sided player valued at around the £7 million mark.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has revealed he will be looking to move to loan side Napoli permanently this summer. Reina is expected to stay with Rafa Benitez at the Serie A giants after Rodgers bought Simon Mignolet last summer.

“From this point I will return to talk about the transfer to Napoli, where I am happy and where I am playing a good season, and we will deal with Liverpool,” Reina has been quoted.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has praised manager Brendan Rodgers, suggesting he has the charisma that many top flight coaches across Europe lack.

“Rodgers manages to get the maximum out of every player. It’s hugely important and not every coach has that charisma,” Sakho told the Liverpool website.

Liverpool youngster Conor Coady has admitted that he needed a loan move down to a football league side. Coady is rated as one of the best young prospects at the club and has been playing for Sheffield United in League One.

“It’s been massive for me. At the start of the season I spoke with the club and my family and it was something I really needed,” he told the club site.

In other news, Liverpool’s potential new kit for the 2014/2015 season was leaked on Twitter earlier today. The shirt could be one of the most significant next year if the Reds lift the Premier League title by mid-May.
