1) Antoine Griezmann
One of the hottest prospects on the continent this season is 23-year-old France international Antoine Griezmann who has scored an impressive 15 goals and made four assists across 30 appearances for Real Sociedad in La Liga. He wouldn’t come cheap and it would likely take a bid over £20 million to convince the Spanish outfit to left him go but with his contract entering its final two years this summer, they may decide to cash in on the winger sooner rather than later.
2) Marco Reus
Griezmann’s German equivalent in the Bundesliga is the 24-year-old who is, along with Toni Kroos, one of the players most often linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The Borussia Dortmund winger has scored 13 goals and made ten assists across just 25 appearances for Dortmund this season, which is why it’ll likely take a massive offer to even make the German’s consider letting him leave.
His contract runs until 2017 so they’re under no pressure to sell and his current valuation is around £35 million and counting.
One of the Premier League’s shining lights this term has been 24-year-old England international Jay Rodriguez.
The winger is yet another fine example of the youth development academy at Southampton for whom he has scored 15 goals and made three assists in 33 appearances this term.
His contract also expires in 2016 and the Saints will be more than a little reluctant to let him go but an offer over £10 million could well convince them otherwise but the Red Devils will face strong competition from other top English sides.
However a serious knee injury might have ended this one as a concept.
4) Kevin Volland
If Reus’s price-tag and contract are enough to keep the Red Devils from chasing him, perhaps his junior compatriot and U21 star Kevin Volland could be ideal.
21-year-old Hoffenheim winger Volland is lesser known than his Schalke counterpart but could likely be easier to prize away from the Bundesliga where he has scored nine goals and made nine assists across 28 appearances this term.
His contract runs until 2017 but his £16 million valuation is much cheaper than 20-year-old Draxler’s £40 million release clause.
5) Angel Di Maria
Finally, a more experienced and senior option in 26-year-old Argentine Di Maria who was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in January and last summer.
For around £26.5 million, Real Madrid could well offload him as they have an abundance of attacking talent ahead of him in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
However, he has renewed his contract until 2018, which suggests he is now more inclined to stay but his three goals and 13 assists across 29 appearances may not be enough to convince Carlo Ancelotti he is guaranteed a starting place, especially as he has started just 14 games in La Liga this term and played 90 minutes on jut eight occasions.
