Manchester United manager David Moyes took the opportunity to watch the under-21 side as they strolled to a comfortable 3-0 victory against Aston Villa.
Goals from James Wilson, Joe Rothwell and Saidy Janko were enough to help United to a win on the night as Moyes dispelled a myth which has formed a criticism of his time in charge at Old Trafford.
Some hold the perception that Moyes is less interested in youth team development at United but the boss went out of his way to watch United’s youngsters in action.
He certainly would have been impressed by what he saw, especially from Wilson who he’s already drafted into the fringes of first team action during his reign at the club.
It’s also important to point out that Jonny Evans also played last night, a regular in the senior side. Evans completed 65 minutes as he closes on a return to first team action, providing the boss with a chance to watch him in action.
