Is this a sign PSG have given up on Hazard pursuit?

PSG are reportedly targeting Isco as a signing, which could mean Eden Hazard is staying at Chelsea.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly decided to focus on signing Isco from Real Madrid this summer, which could be a sign they have turned their back on getting Eden Hazard from Chelsea.

Hazard has been strongly linked with a move to PSG throughout the season and have been tipped to test Jose Mourinho’s resolve with a £50 million offer when the summer transfer window opens.

However, Hazard’s success at Chelsea this season where he’s been arguably their best player, suggests the Blues will be going all out to hang onto their left sided attacking star.

Mourinho has never made it difficult for a rival club to come in and poach one of his best players.

It’s a quality which has followed him round throughout his career and something which could threaten any Hazard to PSG deal through lengthened negotiations generated by Mourinho’s quite rightful stubbornness.

Isco started the season superbly at Real Madrid, producing a large chunk of the seven goals and five assists he’s secured in La Liga over the first part of the campaign.

However, since that early form he’s lost his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first team, which has led to speculation that he could now head off to PSG which could be a simpler deal for the Ligue One side to pull off than signing Hazard.

Isco only moved to Los Blancos last summer in a €31 million deal from Malaga but the difference between himself and Hazard is that the Chelsea man is an undoubted first choice under Mourinho and Isco can’t say the same about his role under Ancelotti.

Nine of Isco’s La Liga appearances have come as a substitute and he may feel that he needs more regular first team football in order to develop and nail down a regular starting role in the Spanish national senior side.

Isco is a very talented player and someone who would be a superb signing for PSG, allowing Chelsea to keep their main star.
