Chelsea morning news: Mourinho confident of win as Spanish giants eye up key duo

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho says he believes his side will progress to the last four of the Champions League.

The Blues take on PSG this evening as they attempt to overturn a first leg deficit having lost 3-1 in Paris.

“I believe [that Chelsea will progress to the semi-finals] and my players believe, and that’s the most important thing. If you ask me if we are going to win tomorrow, I say yes. I think we are going to win,” he told the press.

The Metro claims that Spanish giants Real Madrid will compete against PSG to sign Oscar and Hazard.

The future of the midfielders has been thrown into doubt following reports they could both be sold to help fund the search for a new striker.

PSG are thought to be considering moves for both in the summer, with a £50 million fee for Eden Hazard already doing the rounds.

Thibaut Courtois’ new contract will include financial terms which double his current wages.

The Belgian has been on loan with Atletico Madrid for the past three seasons and reports suggest Jose Mourinho has told him he’ll be number one next season.

Any new contract is reportedly going to run until the summer of 2019 in length, ending speculation the 21-year-old could leave the club.
